- Only use mineral oil or Misner's Woodshop Board Butter when protecting your cutting board. Do not use any organic oils such as vegetable oil, olive oil or nut oils. They will turn rancid over time.
- Periodically apply Misner's Woodshop Board Butter. It will seal the grain of the wood helping to prevent liquid from penetrating. To use, simply apply by rubbing it into the wood using a soft cloth. Then buff with a clean lint free cloth.
- Your new board comes ready to use with mineral oil and Board Butter already applied. There is no initial seasoning required.
- Ensure you wash and clean your board regularly. Hand wash using mild dish soap and warm water. Rinse with water and towel dry. Periodically apply either mineral oil or Board Butter. Don't forget to apply to all surfaces, not just the top!
- Never submerge your cutting board in water or let it "soak" in the sink and never place your board in the dishwasher.
- To prevent warping it is recommended to store your board on it's edge. Do not store when wet. Always towel dry before storage.
- Do not use serrated knives on the cutting board or surface damage will occur.
