Ready to be Filled
This decorative wooden tray can be used for a variety of purposes. Maybe a coffee table tray or ottoman tray or simply a decorative piece just as it is. This tray is handmade using primarily cherry wood, but has light streaks of purple heart and a black walnut center. There are no nails, screws holding this together - the tray is completely assembled using dado and rabbit joints.
Hand Applied Finish for a Oil Rubbed Look
After assembly and sanding, a hand rubbed Danish Oil was applied followed by Johnson furniture wax. The Danish Oil is a great selection for a finish. When dry it maintains that hand rubbed oil look and at the same time it provides great protection. Simply wipe down occasionally with a soft rag with a light spray of non-glossy furniture polish or wood protector or furniture wax.
