The Classic
Here’s the classic favorite when it comes to cutting boards and butcher blocks. We use only hard maple, also known as rock maple, to build our boards. This wood comes from the same tree that produces maple syrup and is stronger, harder and denser than other varieties of maple wood. All of which makes this a great choice.
Size Matters
It's a really great size for everyday use. A lot of boards are so big and heavy that they have to remain on your countertop, taking up valuable space and they’re very difficult to clean. The beauty of our medium sized board is that it can be easily picked up and taken to the sink to be cleaned. After a quick wash and dry it can be placed back in storage or if you prefer, back on the countertop.
Food Safe Mineral Oil Seal
We apply food safe mineral oil to all surfaces after production. We give it sufficient time to penetrate the wood then we apply a balm made from a mixture of white beeswax and mineral oil to all surfaces. This beeswax balm will help seal the end grain surface to keep moisture out. When you receive your new board, it’s ready to start using right away. All you have to do is periodically apply a light coat of the balm we provide to all of the surfaces.
